What is the brachialis?

It is called the brachialis. Gray's Anatomy (1918) describes it as a powerful elbow flexor lying beneath the biceps.

  • Acts on the elbow regardless of forearm position.

Where it is

  • On the front of the lower half of the humerus.
  • Beneath the biceps.
  • Inserts into the tuberosity and coronoid process of the ulna.
