The the lungs is called the lungs. Gray's Anatomy (1918) describes it as a pair of spongy, cone-shaped organs.

Where it is
- Fill most of the chest cavity, on either side of the heart.
- Sit on the diaphragm.
- Enclosed in the pleura.
